I could say something about the topic of your post Tommy...I feel that gratitude can be a valuable part of life, but it shouldn't be blind or used to justify harmful actions. While I acknowledge the beauty and intricacies of the world and the privileges many of us have, I'm not inclined to settle for gratitude when it comes at the cost of others' suffering, particularly sentient beings. True gratitude - to me - involves respecting and protecting life rather than exploiting it, and aligning our actions with our ethical responsibilities—especially when we can avoid causing harm. But overall, I think gratitude - as long as it meets the above criteria - is a wonderful and positive thing to be expressed regularly and celebrated.
